NUIG – Adult Education
NUI Galway offers a wide range of part-time learning programmes for adult learners, covering many different subject areas. Many courses offer an opportunity for professional development while enrolment on other courses is motivated more by personal interest and a desire for self-development.
Evening courses cover a broad range of subjects such as Business/Management, Information Technology, Social Care, Archaeology, History, English Literature, Community Development, Languages, Science/Technology and many others. Most of these programmes lead to a recognised NUI award, a Certificate, a Diploma, a Degree or Masters. Certificate programmes usually last one year. A Diploma programme usually lasts two years, a Degree programme can take four years while a Masters programmes usually takes two years to complete. There are also a series of short liberal education courses extending across a wide range of disciplines, which do not lead to an award.
